Tell us about your fitness journey?
Always lifted weights since I was started in College after High school along with many outdoor sports such as Soccer, Surfing, & Mountain biking. After entering in the military I found a new level of fitness that made me learn to enjoy running more than anything and realize I needed to do more than just lift weights. Not only to be in better shape, but at the time, to be able to care for the soldier to my left or my right should the time ever come. Training has always been part of that journey and it never stopped even when deployed overseas. I still remember running around the FOB (Forward Operating Base) in Shorts and t-shirt while having an M-4 around my back. After returning home and leaving the service I returned to school and had a rough start back in civilian life. I let myself get quite out of shape until I couldn’t take it anymore so I returned to the gym and began doing boot camp workouts at a Local Gym until Mike Lombard introduced me to the Thoroughbred Family! After that I was hooked and haven’t looked back since. I think what Obed, Mandy, Brian, Wynter and the rest of the team there have is something special and you can tell the second you walk in the door. Which is why the people and especially the trainers at Thoroughbred’s keep me coming back day in and day out.
Thanks to all of the team and members for always pushing to help me get better in everything!
How has your fitness changed since joining CFTB?
Since I joined CFTB I actually look forward to my night at the gym almost as if I’m going out to play and that has translated to better physical strength and motivation I never had before. Excited to see how far things will go!
Favorite memory at CFTB?
Kicking Brian & Obed’s Ass at 3 legged race! HA! Chris & I have the title…..for now!
Any advice for new members or people thinking about trying Cross Fit?
CFTB is by far the most welcoming BOX I’ve ever had the privilege to train at and Crossfit is only as intimidating as you let it become! Anyone can do this!
