Tell us about your fitness journey: I have always worked out and been sort of a gym rat. I got tired of years of doing the same thing over and over. I knew I was strong but boy was I humbled in starting at CFTB. Mrs Sue my trainer has been the most incredible coach, partner, irritant, challenger, cheerleader I could have ever had. I was the guy that walked into a gym with headphones on, used improper form and technique and adhered to the no gym friends rule. All serious all the time. I still don’t seem to have friends I now have gym family.
How has your fitness journey changed since joining CFTB? I have lost over 25 pounds in just 7 months. My body looks completely different that it has in years past. I am stronger. I use the right form and technique or my trainers make me put the weight down. I listen and encourage others and I am constantly encouraged. I know that others count on me being there so I do my best to be there!
Favorite memory at CFTB: Halloween and dressing up with Rob! Getting beat in runs by Rob, Getting beat in deadlifts by Rob. Pretty much anything I can compare myself to that has Rob in it! He is good at EVERYTHING! And seeing all the 5am crew with the same scowls I have, ready to work every morning Monday – Thursday!
Any advice for new members or people thinking about trying CrossFit: I did not think I would like it or stick with it. It has changed my world. I feel great. I participate. I listen. I am challenged. This will break you and make you better. I love the new me and you will love the new you! See you at 5AM!
